From Takeley to Lord's

Takeley Cricket Club Charity Event 2023

On the 28th and 29th of July, Sean and our friends at Takeley Cricket Club will be walking 45 miles from Takeley’s Home of Cricket, to the Home of Cricket at Lord’s! Luckily he won’t be doing it alone, he will be joined by 19 other club members in memory of their friend, club secretary and dedicated scorer Malcolm Brown, who sadly passed away in the summer of 2018 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Malcolm was at the heart of everything Takeley did as a club. His presence on match days, work behind the scenes and other commitments mean his legacy will live on for years to come. In his memory, the money raised will be split 50/50 between 2 causes:

• St Clare Hospice who looked after Malcolm during his final months
• To help build an electronic scoreboard that Malc would have loved to have played with every Saturday afternoon!
