Writing for the web guide
In recent months we've provided our in-house writing guide to more and more customers to help them develop their own content. This is becoming increasingly important to the success of websites as content is such a key component to Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
Our research into SEO (an ongoing and endless process) has enabled us to identify a number of key guidelines which we have included at the start of this guide. The SEO guidelines and some of the actual writing guidelines can conflict. We haven't tried to address these few ambiguities as both are applicable in different circumstances - it's just worth knowing that these ambiguities can and do exist.
This document still essentially remains an in-house document, originally produced alongside Government clients. We've tried to ensure it remains focussed and easy to follow - but if you do find yourself getting stuck, please feel free to give us a call.
