On the third day of Christmas

"On the third day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me,
an ode on Christmas adverts,
A cap on children's spending,
And a Christmas card of a celebrity family."

The 9th of November,
What a day to remember,
A marketing delight,
On a Saturday night...

M&S's ad is like a movie,
With Helena Bonham Carter looking groovy,
'Magic and Sparkle' being their fab franchise,
Surely it’s worthy of a BAFTA prize?

John Lewis' isn't so outwardly glorious,
Perhaps due to their past ads being victorious,
But don’t you worry, they still manage to afford,
Taking the famous pop star, Lily Allen, on board.

Mr Lewis, Marks and Spencer,
Promote no sweet dispenser,
Instead they show what,
We were taught as a tot:

That Christmas is for giving,
Appreciating happiness and living,
Being with those you love,
Over and above.

A dream is a wish your heart makes,
So let's hope for the hare that the bear wakes,
And if the advert is right and fairy tales do come true,
It won't be tricky (in M&S) to find Dorothy's red shoes!

What do you think of these Christmas Adverts?
