On the ninth day of Christmas
"On the ninth day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me,
A story about a lost toy,
The Oscars new look,
WestJet's Christmas video,
A range of homepage designs,
2014's web design extinctions,
2013's most talked about Facebook Topics,
An ode on Christmas adverts,
A cap on children's spending,
And a Christmas card of a celebrity family"
I know I’m a bit late, but in case you haven’t heard it already, I’m going to share with you the heart wrenching story of how Lauren Bishop Vranch worked with Twitter to help a young girl reunite with her favourite cuddly toy.
“LBV”, not the wine, found a bear on a train,
It looked both lost and lonely, in such a public domain,
If the train staff took the bear, he’d be transported far away,
So instead he went with Lauren, to Newcastle for the day.
The two of them had a great time, when they were there,
They went to the pub and a panto – what a lucky bear,
But most of all, they wanted him to go home to his mum,
So returning to London was the rule of thumb.
While they were in the North, the #lostbear went viral,
On Social Media sites like Twitter, and others in spiral,
The country was really keen to help the bear’s owner out,
Her story will have touched people’s hearts, without a doubt.
Just as LBV and the bear, were starting to lose hope,
Without his mum the bear didn’t know, how he’d cope,
A miracle occurred and the owner’s dad found the bear’s pic,
The ‘Spotted: On The Train’s’ Facebook page, was what did the trick!
In the end, the #lostbear belonged to a young girl called Phoebe,
He was certainly not to her a tacky tombola freebie,
Instead he was her favourite toy, whom she’d adore,
And he isn’t even a bear, he’s a lion called Roar!
You’ll be pleased to know that Roar has returned to Phoebe, thanks to Lauren’s kindness- hooray! Well done Lauren and the web – Social media strikes again :)
