During 2006 and early 2007, we undertook an intensive study of retail website usability. Our aim was to develop a model for a retail website that:

  • Provides a world-class user experience
  • Has high search engine optimisation (SEO) characteristics
  • Is easy to manage and administer
  • Is affordable

Popcorn shopping websites.

We came up with our own e-commerce website solution using proven page layouts and functionality. Our websites includes a product database (easily updated by the client), various payment options, each page optimised for accessibility, usability and good search engine placement.

We have now created over 20 e-commerce websites some of them generating sales in excess of £1m per year

World-class user experience
Websites that present barriers to users lose sales. That is why we do not force customers become registered members if they just wish to make a simple initial purchase.

High SEO characteristics
If you can’t be found, you can’t sell. Our research reveals that users will view the brand of a high ranking website as trustworthy, even if it is a new brand to them and better known brands appear lower down the rankings. Our websites are built to perform well, especially in Google, MSN and Yahoo.

Easy to manage and administer
Running a business is difficult enough without your route to market complicating your life. A simple Content Management System is an integral part of the product which allows you to control the products and promotions.

Affordable
We see no reason why a retailer should have to buy an expensive bespoke solution that does the business, or a cheap off-the-shelf product that doesn’t. We feel you can have the characteristics of a bespoke solution, but for a fraction of the cost.
