Unix Systems Administrator

Working within this innovative web design agency you will benefit from working around experienced industry professionals where you will be exposed to a range of web based services including Linux, Apache, DNS, MySQL etc.

The Role

You will look after the internal and external web hosting servers, speak directly to clients and provide internal technical support and be expected to work with the developers and, when not maintaining the system, you will be helping to develop Perl based solutions.

This will work out to be a varied role, where you will be exposed to a wide range of technologies while providing technical support and web development. The most important aspect of this individual will be their "can do" approach to their work and enthusiasm for all things technical and web!

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented support engineer/systems administrator to come and work in a talented team.

Requirements

  • Experience of maintaining services in commercial environment
  • Experience of RPM based Linux distributions
  • Linux shell
  • Configuring Apache, BIND, Samba, MySQL, Postfix, SSH services
  • Experience of backup via rsync
  • Good communication skills
